GRVT

GRVT (pronounced "gravity") is a hybrid decentralized exchange that combines the speed and user experience of centralized exchanges with the self-custody, privacy, and transparency of decentralized finance. Built on ZKsync Validium Layer 2, GRVT uses zero-knowledge proofs to ensure transactions inherit Ethereum-level security while keeping trade details private and settlement costs low. The platform is positioned as the world's first licensed and regulated onchain exchange, actively pursuing regulatory licenses across multiple jurisdictions including Bermuda, the EU (MiCA), Dubai (VARA), and Abu Dhabi (ADGM). Founded in 2022 by Hong Yea (CEO), Aaron Ong (CTO), and Matthew Quek (COO) — all former Goldman Sachs executives — GRVT brings deep traditional finance expertise to DeFi infrastructure. The platform launched its mainnet alpha in late 2024, initially focused on crypto perpetual futures trading before expanding into spot and options markets. GRVT supports advanced features such as cross-exchange vaults, configurable leverage, and institutional-grade execution through integrations with firms like CoinRoutes. GRVT has raised a total of $33.3 million across four funding rounds. The $19 million Series A in September 2025 was co-led by ZKsync, Further Ventures (backed by Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund), EigenCloud, and 500 Global. Earlier rounds included a $5 million seed round co-led by Matrix Partners and Delphi Digital, with participation from Susquehanna Investment Group, CMS Holdings, ABCDE Capital, Hack VC, and Matter Labs.
